4. Two days before moving

  • Empty any food left in the fridge/freezer. Defrost and then dry all to get ready to pack it. Please note food cannot be moved into storage.
  • We would look to avoid arranging for the removal company appointed to move a fridge/freezer with food still in it. Only under exceptional circumstances we would agree to this.
  • Make sure all other foods from cupboards are well sealed and ready to be packed and moved.
  • Speak with your neighbours to arrange parking for the day of the move. Make sure that access is as stated in your booking.

  • Make sure all plants and garden materials are ready for the move the next day.
  • The removal company should have been in contact by now, and therefore you will know what time they will be arriving in the morning.
  • Make sure everything is packed and ready to be loaded (relevant to customers packing themselves)

  • Make sure children are settled with their carer. If they are with you, make sure they are away from what is being moved at any point to avoid accidents.

  • Strip the beds and box up the linen.
  • Make sure all appliances are unplugged and ready to go, except the kettle.

After 9.00 AM (This time can vary depending on each move and peoples circumstances)

  • The removal company will be with you. Therefore walk them around the property indicated what is to be moved etc.
  • Put the kettle on and make sure everyone is refreshed.
  • Let the removal company start the move. They will look to start loading in order of preference (each move and removal company will work differently).
  • You are paying for the service so let them do the job.
